LEGAZPI CITY: WHAT TO DO & WHERE TO GO IN ALBAY
Albay province is very rich in historical sites, educational places and recreational venues. This is the Home of the famous and most active Mayon Volcano. But aside from Mayon there is the famous Cagsawa Ruins, Lignon Hills and so many others. In its capital city alone, Legazpi City, two days is not enough to visit all the beautiful places here. If you happen to visit Albay, here are some things to do on a one-day tour:
Of course, Mayon is your primary target when going to Albay. This is given so we will proceed to other destination aside from Mayon Volcano anyway you will see Mayon in every place you go in the city of Legazpi and other nearby towns.
THE REMAINS OF A CHURCH
Let's go first to not so distant place, the nearby town of Daraga. In Daraga you can visit the famous Cagsawa Ruins. A church built long time ago but due to several Mayon volcanic eruption, only the bell tower of the church is now being left above the ground. Some stories told that there are many people buried here during the eruption. These is also the place where of most of Mount Mayon images were taken.
HISTORICAL CHURCHES OF ALBAY
The Albay Cathedral is one good place to visit to strengthen your faith. This is a historical church built on the 17th century.
This is probably the best destination after you went to historical churches, The Lignon Hill. Breathtaking views awaits you at the top of this land formation. You can see the full (360 degrees) view of Legazpi City on this site. You can also find the Phivolcs' Volcano Observatory Station.
